The Portslade team are a long serving group of dedicated professionals, with a wealth of knowledge and a passion for giving children the best start in their early years journey, delivering high quality teaching through a wide range of educational experiences.
Our bright and spacious rooms offer a wealth of resources for the children to explore. We love messy and creative activities, and have many sensory play opportunities alongside dedicated areas for role play, reading, and developing our motor skills.
Our garden is a large secure area in which the children can enjoy the outside environment, with lots of space for building, running, climbing, and balancing. We have a wide range of large & small equipment, including our very own mud kitchen for the children to play with.
Rooms
We cater for children from birth to 5 years old and we have rooms dedicated to different age ranges.
Baby Snug
Our Baby Snug is for babies from 3 months to 18 months. We have a wide range of age appropriate resources, and we follow the child’s interests & developmental needs, to create learning opportunities and invitations to play that are focused on each child. There is lots of space for babies to relax, sleep, crawl, and explore new sights and sounds to awaken the senses.
The Baby Snug is the perfect place for our youngest children to begin their nursery journey.
Toddler Den
The Toddler Den is for children aged 18 months to 30 months, and has spaces for exploration, play, and new experiences. The toddlers enjoy a slightly more structured curriculum plan, with increased opportunities for the children to develop their independence. Creative play, colourful and textured resources, singing, stories, outdoor play, and nursery rhymes are how we learn every day.
Potty training generally happens in this room, and our staff will always support as the children become more independent.
Pre-School Study
Our Pre-School Study is the next step in your child’s nursery journey, from 30 months up-to starting- school age. To encourage school readiness, we expand the childrens knowledge by building on their interests, and create activities and opportunities that focus on reading, writing, maths, and science – ensuring children are learning as they play. All activities are carefully planned to cover all areas of learning.
