We have the use of three classrooms in the nursery.
Bumble bees - children aged 1 - 2 years
Caterpillars - children aged 2-3 years
Butterflies - children aged 3 - 8 years
This is the available space within the nursery. We have 36 children over the age of 2 and 12 children under the age of 2.
Each area has its own supply of toys, games, books and equipment suited to that age group. The learning environment is planned for daily by the practitioners taking into account the children’s interests & enjoyment.
The minimum staff ratio’s for each room are
Bumble bees - 1 - 3
Caterpillars - 1 - 4
Butterflies - 1 - 8
We usually run the nursery over ratio
We also employ a lunch cover assistant to cover busy times and lunch breaks.
The manager on site is supernumery
Younger Children will have use of the garden at least twice a day. They will be taken out in their classes. They will be led out down the stairs, ensuring that each child holds on to the handrail. The older children have free fow access to the garden for the majority of the day.
A First Aid box for use in the garden, is located downstairs. The garden is equipped with slides, climbing frames and bikes suitable to the children’s age group. We also have a large sheltered area. The learning environment in the outdoor environment is planned for daily by the practitioners taking into account the children’s interests & enjoyment.
The garden is used wherever possible in all weathers..
The garden is also equipped with toys & resources to support the Early Years Foundation Stage.
The children do go out for walks of the local area. We have double buggies for the younger children to use.

During the Covid 19 pandemic we are grouping the children in groups of no more than 15.
