At Footsteps Day Nursery we close at 6pm unless a late pick up of 6.30 has been previously arranged. We ask that all children are picked up before the end of their session at 5:50pm.
If however, you are late to pick your child up, we ask that you phone as soon as you can, so that the staff can prepare the child, in order that they do not become distressed.
2 members of staff will always stay with any children who are collected late.
If you send someone other than the nominated adult to collect a child, then the password system will be put into place. The child will only be released if the correct password is used.
A charge of £5 per 15 minutes (or part thereof) will be added to bills if persistent lateness occurs.
If, after several attempts to contact the parents/carers and we can’t locate you then we will try all available emergency contacts, if this is unsuccessful and one hour has lapsed, then the staff will contact the police. The Police will pass the information to the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub that a child has been uncollected from Nursery without any prior consent.
If this lateness occurs at the lunchtime pick up then all the available contacts will be called. If the extra child takes us over ratio then the supernumerary managers or apprentices will step into ratio. If a time of 2 hours elapses then the staff will contact police who will pass the details onto social services.
